Thinking About You
I had visited the same home a number of times for a past due balance and
spoke to the same frustrated woman. The woman was working as a
teacher while her husband was working off and on. She always brought
the account current, but I could tell she didn't like my visits to her home.
One time I stopped by and no one was home.
I was leaving a note letting them know they need to bring their account
current and to call me, when she pulled into the driveway. I waited for her
to discuss why she was late again. She said “I knew you would be here, I
was lying in bed with my husband last night and I told him.” “We better
make the house payment or that F---N’ Shayne is going to stop by again”
and here you are.”
Is it wrong that I was somewhat pleased having made such an impression
that she was thinking of me and the debt as she was lying in bed… with
her husband?
I didn't think so.
