Attacked!
The bank I worked for had no option but to file and serve a Writ. I was to
attend the eviction, along with the Sheriff of the County, and change
locks, take inventory, and secure the property (Mobile Home).
I stopped at the Park Office to say 'Hi' and explained who I was there to
see. "Oh, my...SHE isn't going to go quietly," was the reaction at the front
desk. I smiled and drove up to the lot.
Not only the Sheriff, but THREE City Police Officers were also in
attendance. "They must know something about this resident that I don't."
I think I actually said that out loud.
She pleaded for another 24 hours (she hadn't paid on the bank loan for
427 DAYS!) and I denied the request. The Sheriff told her it was time to go
and she bolted into the home. He followed her in and she did otherwise.
So while she was on the front lawn, I changed the front and back door
locks and stepped back outside to meet with Law Enforcement Officials.
Miss Former Home Owner looked frantic about the yard and grabbed the
first thing she could find to use as a weapon. She came screaming and
charging toward me brandishing a plastic baby stroller with a big purple
plastic Barney mounted on the front end. I did some quick math. She
could weigh no more than 90 and I guessed the stroller-Barney thing at
about 20. For 110 lbs., yes, I would take one for the company. One of the
City Police yelled, "Drop the stroller, Ma'am!"
She continued her assaulting charge.
Just before I expected be talking with St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, the
officer yelled again to drop the stroller, then stepped in, wrestling Barney
and the woman to the ground. She was cuffed and carried out. Barney
was released on his own recognizance and spent the rest of his day
among the other toys in the yard.
